Create Your Blog Page!

Welcome back to Media Arts!

Today is an exciting day — you’ll be creating your very own blog page! 🎉

Let’s channel your creativity into something fresh and unique. You’ll need to come up with a:

• 🎭 Creative Theme

• ✍🏾 Catchy Blog Title

• 🌐 Custom Domain Name

🔧 Follow These Steps to Get Started:

1. Open your web browser and go to wordpress.com

2. Sign in using your school Google email address to set up your account. (Let me know if you don't remember your log in information and I will provide it to you).

3. Search a domain name. 

This is what people will type into a search engine to find your blog. This can be anything that you create that relates to the blog theme you chose.  

Tip: If your domain is taken (ex: Media Arts FOA), try a slight variation like Media Arts FOA 1, or get creative with a new one!

5. Scroll down to the domain name that ends in .wordpress.com. It should say FREE next to it. Click Select.

6. On the righthand side, click Continue.          

                        

7. Select the option that says FREE. DO NOT select a paid account.

8. Scroll down to Skip to Dashboard.

9. You can log out by clicking on your name in the upper righthand corner and clicking Log Out. We will continue designing our blog next week.

9. Email me the domain name of your blog.
